During the first week of June 2016, Midnight Without a Moon was mailed out to Mrs. Emily Montjoy, a teacher in South Carolina. On Saturday, March 24, 2018--nearly two years later--the book was returned to me by Mrs. Denise Golden, a teacher in Arkansas. Midnight Without a Moon had completed her #BookVoyage.
Below are some of the comments made by the teachers who participated in my book's voyage.
Thank you for your love and care of Midnight Without a Moon during this fantastic voyage, Emily Montjoy, Jessica Samuel, Rebecca Webster, Julie Kirchner, Cassie Knight, Corrina Allen, Alison Gettler, Sandy O'Brien, and Denise Golden!
Hi Miss Jackson! I love your book and u even came to my school a few months ago in he spring!
ReplyDeleteI am a retired middle school teacher who loved sharing books with my students. You will not find an adult fiction book in my hands...I only read middle school level historic fiction for these authors understand how to tell a story at an age-appropriate level with a message that to me, is much more pronounced and undiluted with distracting curse words or unnecessary sexual imagery. I loved this book because it taught me so much about African Americans living in 1950s Mississippi but more so, for the message of faith and the change that Jesus truly can make in all of us if we give Him one eighth of the chance that He gives to us on a daily basis. Sadly, many children in America today don't hear about Jesus, and I commend the author's courage in weaving that into the story and thus fulfilling the Great Commission.
